“Retreat!” The general shouts from the top of his horse.
The soldiers
under him turn and begin to rush in the opposite direction. Some are killed
before the can fully exit the battlefield.
“Wait!” Rei calls to the retreating soldiers, “We can still win this!”
Her auburn hair is pulled up onto the top of her head to keep it from
getting into her eyes during the battle. She holds onto a staff tightly as
she watches them run.
The group running is a species called Orions. They have pointed ears that
poke out through their helmets and eyes that contain no pupil. They are one
of the weakest species on the planet but their territory is under attack and
they had no choice but to fight.
Rei is not an Orion. She is one fourth demon, angel, goddess, and Reinatin magien. She
joined the war to help the Orions when she heard of the Koriks plan.
The Koriks are a species that is very close to humans. They look identical
in appearance if it wasn’t for their tails. Each Korik has a tail, not very
long, but noticeable. Some also have the ability to become stronger with
every defeat.
The Orions are the fifth species that the Koriks have brought to battle.
In the past they have conquered over the Gimsis, Reinatis, Caracoz, and the
Faeries. It wasn’t until now that the other species of the world learned of
their plans.
Falqin, the leader of the Koriks, is planning to take control of the entire
world by conquering one group of people at a time. Falqin is the strongest
of all the Koriks. He became leader by killing the past leader and
defending himself against others who wanted to become leader.
He brought his people to the Orions land to fight the battle. The Orions
had no choice to fight. Knowing that they were weak, other warriors from
different species decided to help.
“Don’t back down now!” Rei calls to the Orions, “We can’t let them get
away with this!” She turns suddenly when she hears a group of Koriks
approaching. They smile at her with evil in their eyes.
“Looky what we have here,” one sneers.
“A pretty little girl,” another adds.
“Who’s all alone,” a third finishes and jumps at Rei. She fixes her grip
on her staff and smacks the man in the chin with the top edge. As the staff
hits the man, the crystals implanted inside along the entire length glow a
deep red.
“She knows magic,” the first takes a step back as he notices the staff
glow.
“That’s right and if I were you I would tell your leader to leave quickly,”
she holds the staff above her head ready to strike again. Her eyes flicker
from blue to green, changing with her mood.
“Wait a second,” another one of the Koriks speaks, stepping forward, “I
know what this girl is. She is from Reinatis.”
“Impossible, we killed that entire race,” the first speaks again.
“Yes but we never could find that young princess that escaped,” the one
snickers as he speaks. As he finishes the others begin to smile.
“Let’s kill her,” the first speaks with a chuckle. Without hesitating, Rei
conjures magic in her staff. The red light glows, circling the staff until
the very tip. At the tip it forms into a ball of light.
As the Koriks jump at her, she takes a step back and swipes the staff in
the air, releasing the light on her enemies. The light spans through five
of her enemies and burns their skin.
Rei looks down at the burnt bodies that lay at her feet. She feels tired
from the concentration. She looks up at more Koriks as they come to fill in
the others places.
“This is going to take longer than I hoped,” she whispers to herself as she
lifts her staff up once again.

A little to the east of the battlefield, a purple light flickers from a
gemstone. The gemstone is implanted in a groove cut out of a dagger’s hilt.
The dagger belongs to Mel, a woman with black hair that falls a short
distance past her shoulders.
With every wipe of the blade, the gem’s light flickers and fades. She
shoves the blade in one Korik’s stomach. The man gasps from the pain and
his mouth is left hanging open. She pulls it out of his stomach roughly and
lets him drop to the ground at her feet.
Turning her head, her black eyes show little emotion. She watches as two
Koriks stop when they see that she noticed them. She turns her body to face
them and holds the dagger near her head. She closes her eyes and the gem
glows brightly. Slowly the dagger’s blade grows longer as it changes to a
sword.
She opens her eyes when the transformation is complete and runs at the men.
She swings the sword at the one of the right, slicing it through the
abdomen. She turns and slices the other man on the throat. The blood spews
onto the ground and the men wobble for a second before dropping.

In the center of the Orion’s territory is a large mountain. Falqin stands
at the top watching the battle. Many of the soldiers are at the foot of the
mountain but they are killed before they can proceed to climb it.
Standing at the foot of the mountain, defending the Koriks is a woman with
a mask over her mouth and nose. The only thing noticeable was her long
black hair that was pulled back and her blue eyes that seemed to glow with
excitement for death. Floating around behind her, her black tail seems to
do damage with her rapier.
“You don’t want to play anymore?” She taunts a bloody Orion who is trying
to back away from her. She holds her rapier up, the incredibly thin blade
was drenched in blood. She lunges forward stabbing the blade through the
center of the man’s head, killing him instantly.
She is the one of the few women allowed to fight with the Koriks and the
only woman who had ever made rank. On the mask is a white crescent moon
design arcing like a frown. The moon represented the Lunarcs, a specific
group of Koriks who terrorize anything they want.
She wears one glove on her right hand and a cuff around her wrist on the
left hand. In the cuff is a green gem.
“You must stop!” A woman’s voice calls to the girl. She turns to see Rei
standing behind her. The girl sighs.
“You people are so stupid. Just leave us to kill the Orions. We aren’t
bothering you. You don’t have to fight someone else’s battle,” she explains
with a feminine voice.
“I will not stop until you are all dead. This battle involves me as well,”
Rei speaks proudly.
“Alright, alright, if you insist.” The girl swings her rapier at Rei and
Rei blocks it with her staff. As the blade hits onto the staff Rei pushes
it away from her and kicks the girl in the stomach releasing a force of
magic that sends the girl back.
The girl slides to a stop and looks at Rei with a smile hidden under the
mask. Rei summons her magic quickly and the red ball of light begins to
form at the top of her staff.
“Magic,” she snickers to herself, ready for the attack.
“Pheonix Blaze!” Rei brings her staff down and sends the entire ball at the
girl. The power is incredible considering that it is aimed at one target.
The girl holds her hand up with the cuff as the magic comes at her. A
green barrier draws the ball of light into the gem on her cuff.
“What the-” Rei looks at the girl confused.
“I don’t like this,” the girl snickers, “Take it back.” She flicks her
wrist and the ball of light is sent at Rei. Rei’s eyes widen and she jumps
to the side, dodging the light.
“You think because you have magic that you are strong? Well I have magic
so that makes me just as strong,” the girl jumps at Rei with her rapier held
high.

Close to the mountain another person was fighting against the Koriks. This
man was a human looking quite intimidating with an outfit containing of all
black and a sword that is three and a half foot in length and more than five
inches in width. His name is Minion and his brown eyes shine with anger and
boldness.
Looking at the sword causes some of the Koriks to back away but Minion
continues to approach them. He showed no emotion on his face as he swiped
his sword at the enemies. The blade cut through their skin and through
their bones. He swung the sword over and over again, turning to get the
enemies that stood on the other side of him. With each swipe he cut off
their heads.
He wasn’t fighting for the peace and justice of the world. He was looking
for certain people. He was looking for the Lunarcs. He wanted to kill them
all and he was going to go through the entire battle to find them.
Heads drop from their bodies and blood spills onto the ground as he
continues to push his way through the battlefield looking for the crescent
moon that haunts him.

On the other side of the battlefield another man fights. This man wasn’t
fighting for either side and he kills anyone who comes close to him. His
dirty blonde hair is stained with blood and his red eyes told the soldiers
that he was a vampire.
On his face is a smile that never seems to fade and in the corner of his
mouth his fangs poke through. He enjoys every moment that the blood
continues to spew. He grabs onto an Orion soldier and bites him on the
neck, tearing the flesh. The man shakes and drops to the ground.
He looks on as a group of Orions look at him, terrified. He walks towards
them quickly pulling the two daggers from his belt. He immediately begins
to swipe at them cutting them. He cuts them so gracefully and so quickly
that it sends the blood hurling into the air.
He turns around and lifts his head to the sky, opening his mouth to catch
the blood. He hears the sound of a girl and looks down quickly. He spots
Mel as she pulls her sword from a Korik.
He smiles and licks the blood from one of his daggers. He walks towards
her slowly and licks his lips. She turns around quickly and sees him
standing in front of her.
“Hello,” he tilts his head as he looks at her, “I’m Rozi. You’re the only
girl I saw in this battle. What’s your name?”
“I’m busy! Leave me alone!” She turns and stabs through a Korik.
“Busy… I never heard of a girl having that name,” he follows her, “Listen,
I-” a Korik hits into him interrupting him. He looks at him angry and puts
his hands on his head and twists it rapidly, breaking his neck. Rozi turns
back to where Mel is fighting, “I think that we should get together because,
well let’s face it, we are both hot.”

As the battle continues, the Koriks begin to gain the majority of the
territory. Falqin looks on from the top of the mountain and smiles. He is
enjoying every minute of the battle. It was almost seconds to the time he
would declare victory.
As the darkness looms over he is surprised by the sudden light that comes
from above. He looks up to see a man in a cape flying above.
“Who the hell are you?” Falqin speaks angrily as he watches the man draw a
sword with a blade glowing of light. The man’s face could not be seen from
the shadow that the hood casts upon him.
“Oh, I see,” Falqin speaks with a smile and draws his own sword, one with
the blade made of blood. The man does not speak instead he watches as
Falqin concentrates his ki to take flight.
Falqin looks at him with a smile and raises his sword to him.
“You are a--” Falqin begins to talk but stops when the man swings his sword
at him causing Falqin to have to lift his sword quickly to block.
“I see then,” Falqin nods and counters with his sword. The two begin to
fly higher as they swing at one another. They fly over the battlefield and
everyone stops as they notice that it is Falqin who is fighting.
Falqin slices his sword across the man’s chest, tearing his clothes open
enough to see a small corner of his chest. On his chest is a scar that
continues under the clothes. As Falqin looks at the scar the man takes the
opportunity to stab him through the stomach.
Falqin’s eyes widen and he looks at the man before he dissipates into
millions of micro sized pieces of blood that disappears in the sky.

The Korik’s stare up amazed at what had happened.
“Retreat!” One of them shouts and the entire battlefield begins to turn
back and run.
Rei and the girl look at one another. The girl smiles under the mask and
lowers her rapier.
“I guess I’ll see you around,” she waves and jumps into the air, staying
afloat.
“Goodbye Princess,” she snickers as she flies away. Rei watches wondering
who she was.
